Seena's Foolproof Apple Crisp
Ingredients

large apples, peeled and sliced
1/3
cup whole wheat pastry flour
1/3
cup white sugar
1
tsp cinnamon
½
cup water
½
cup melted margarine
1½
cup quick oats
1
cup brown sugar, packed
1
tsp cinnamon
Directions
Preheat
oven to 350 degrees.
Core
apples and slice into wedges. Spread the apple pieces evenly across the bottom
of a greased baking dish. Whisk together the flour, white sugar and cinnamon
and sprinkle evenly over the apples. Drizzle the water over top of the sugar
mixture.
Melt
the margarine (we suggest Earth Balance) in a small glass measuring cup and combine
with the oats, brown sugar and cinnamon in a mixing bowl. It should be crumbly
in texture. Use your hands to really work the margarine into the dry mix. Spread
evenly over top of apple slices and press down well.
Bake
uncovered in oven for 45-55 minutes and allow to cool slightly before serving.
Best served warm. Top with a serving of dairy-free vanilla-ish ice cream of
your choice for an extra special treat.
